The Agitator or Stirrer for mixing the material
Generally made up of three main components – a shaft with impellers, a mechanical seal, and a motor with a gearbox option. They are fitted on a stand with manual or pneumatic or hydraulic lifting and lowering systems.
Our agitator tanks are expertly manufactured using either carbon steel or stainless steel. These agitator tanks can also be equipped with jacketing and internal coils for efficient heating or cooling.

What are Agitators?
Agitators help chemical reactions, keep liquids uniform during storage, and improve heating or cooling. An agitator typically includes a motor, gearbox, shaft, and impellers inside the tank. The agitator fits into a stand and stirs the material within the agitator tank.
Agitator tanks are industrial containers used for mixing liquids. In these tanks, agitators blend substances in chemical, food, and pharmaceutical industries.
Construction and working principle of an Agitator mixing system
There are two major components of an agitator mixer.
The Agitator or Stirrer – It has three major components – a shaft with impellers, a mechanical seal, and a motor with a gearbox option. The mechanical seal has several options depending on the duty – single/double mechanical seal, dry or wet mechanical seal, gas lift-off mechanical seal related to the duty involved. An agitator shaft is connected to the drive unit (motor & gearbox) and where the impellers used for the mixing are welded or bolted onto. Generally, they are fitted on a stand with mechanised lifting and lowering systems.
The mixing Tank – The agitator or stirrer is mounted onto the tank, vessel or reactors which stores the material.
What is the use of a helical impeller?
Helical impellers can be used where very high viscosity (above 100,000 centipoise) is involved.
It’s important to select the right one in terms of numbers of flight, pitch and helix to suit the specific requirements of the process parameters. The Helical Impeller for high viscosity applications also promotes surface renewal and heat transfer.
